Katie Radditz

We all have a thirst for knowing, a yearning for freedom, and following one’s own true nature.

We also want to be at peace with what is beyond our changing or understanding. If you are interested in pausing to reflect on this life’s journey, I would like to be your companion. As your spiritual director, I will listen to what brings you here now, give prompts, and commune with you about what steps lay ahead. You will listen to what calls you where there may be roadblocks. This is your time for transition in awakening or deepening your spiritual life.

With shared readings, questions, and meditation, I will help you explore the mystery that opens the mind and heart. This can be a fun adventure to insight and feel in tune with what gives you meaning. I will ask you what brings you joy and how you offer compassion to yourself and others. We will explore spiritual practice for grounding and growth.

Since retiring in 2017 as director of Adult Programs at the church I have been enjoying spiritual direction for myself and others. I received certification at the Urban Spirituality Center. To my sessions with you I bring what I’ve drawn from many Faiths as well as from literature and Nature and the Arts. I have taught classes in creative writing, Buddhist teachings, Transcendentalism, and many spiritual retreats. I have done spiritual companionship with many people participating in the Wellspring program. I am a sangha member in Thich Nhat Hanh’s Zen tradition. I lead Mindfulness Retreats and co-lead the Monday night Loving-Kindness Meditation for First Unitarian. I also bring this sacred and wonderful work into communities involved in transformative Prison projects and restorative ecology. The important gifts of spiritual practice can bring peace and compassion with love at the center to any social justice work.

I will be delighted to hear from you, blessings, Katie Radditz
