General Assembly Delegates Sought

The UUA General Assembly is in Portland, June 22-26. We need 19 delegates to represent First Unitarian, Portland. Participation is possible both in-person and virtually. Are you ready, willing, and able?

Are You Ready – Can you devote three hours to Association business on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings, and attend the Opening Ceremonies on Wednesday evening?

Are You Willing – As the final program and schedule are published the UUA will promulgate issues and matters of witness and education. Will you familiarize yourself with the issues to be voted on? If you are a member of a committee or church group, will you share the issues with them and seek their input? Following GA delegates will be asked to report back to the membership on topics discussed and votes taken.

Are You Able – Are you comfortable using online tools such as Zoom to attend virtual meetings and participate in voting?

This is a great opportunity to become engaged in the larger work of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations. And, it is not all work; there will be the Ware Lecture, on-line worship, speakers, and workshops. As GA draws nearer much more information will become available at uua.org. Interested? Please contact Stan Jewett, stanjewett3@gmail.com, or Bill Pryor, bspryor@gmail.com by May 31 for an application.
