December/January: Jean Gale

Jean is a native Oregonian who has enjoyed living on both side of the Cascades. A resident of Lake Oswego, she found her love of painting later in life when a friend suggested she take a one day class.  Jean is left-handed and musically inclined – two natural attributes of an artist, said her friend.  It was love at first class!

She believes painting is a gift she have been given to share with others. Water media is the vehicle she uses to capture the moments observed in everyday life and travel. A favorite quote states “let me show you what I have seen, what I have loved & perhaps you will see it and love it too”. Painting is part of who she is and her day is always richer when pursuing art.

Jean is a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and Lake Area Artists. Her work is in private and corporate collections in the northwest and includes many personal commissions. Jean’s paintings can be viewed at the Rental Sales Gallery of the Portland Art Museum, Valley Art Gallery in Forest Grove or at her studio.
