For grounding in the earth’s cycles, many spiritual traditions celebrate the changing of the seasons through 8 “Sabbats” that occur throughout the year. If you are a practitioner of earth-based spirituality, or are curious about deepening your connection to the earth’s natural cycles, join our practice and discussion circles facilitated by intern minister, Carter Smith.

Fall

Session 1: Samhain – October 31 (Nov. 1)

We will begin with a New Year celebration, also known as All Hallow’s Eve. To follow up from our Sunday worship honoring our beloved dead, we will talk about the history of this holiday, and lessons from this time where the veil is thin between this world and the next.

Winter

Session 2: Yule/Winter Solstice – December 19 (Dec. 21)

Before we celebrate the solstice as a church community, gather to reflect on the lessons of this shortest day of the year, and learn simple ways to celebrate the holiday in your own home.

Spring

Session 3: Imbolc – January 30 (Feb. 1)

Imbolc is a celebration marking the first hints of spring, and is celebrated through cleaning out stagnant energy, and planting seeds for all that we wish to grow in the new season.

Session 4: Ostara/Spring Equinox – March 20 (Mar. 20)

Session 5: Beltane – May 1 (May 1)

Session 6: Litha/Summer Solstice – June 19 (June 21)
