Rev. Ken Jones
Acting Assistant Minister

(he/him)
The Rev. Ken Jones was born in Illinois and raised in Michigan, and after graduating from Michigan State University with a major in Telecommunications, worked in the corporate world for a few years. This work eventually took him to Seattle in 1992, where he instantly fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and called it his home. The corporate world couldn’t hold back his calling, however, so he enrolled in seminary at Starr King School for Ministry in 1995, and was ordained into the Unitarian Universalist Ministry in 2000 in Tacoma, WA. After serving the church in Tacoma for almost a decade, he experimented for a couple years with off-grid living in remote NE Washington, and then moved to Yakima to re-join the world of UU Ministry, and has since served churches there and in Hood River, OR and Ellensburg, WA.
Ken most recently moved to Portland to be with his partner, Terra Goodman, and to renovate an old house (one of his hobbies!) in SE Portland, and is thrilled to join the ministry team at First Unitarian. In his spare time he passionately enjoys walking, paddling, and pedaling the beautiful countryside of the Pacific Northwest.
