September: Two Photographers, One Sky

Through large diameter telescopes, Dave Kovich opens up the night sky to reveal the mysterious wonders of the universe.  The complex use of filters and multiple exposures reveals galaxies, nebulae, and other formations from light years away and eons ago. Brent Schauer, on the other hand, captures denizens of the sky with exposures measured in the 1/1,000 of a second or less. But, he also is recording a little of the past, as his bird subjects are the descendants of dinosaurs.  While Dave’s images are produced by straight photography, Brent’s result from collaging several images.
