Nancy S. found her first experience with Unitarian Universalism at First Unitarian, after growing up in an Irish Catholic family and receiving 12 years of Catholic education. While she rejected much of Catholic doctrine, she still carries forward the values of justice, kindness, and purposeful living that it helped instill, and her adult spiritual life has continued to unfold through eastern philosophy and earth-based practices. She is drawn to UU’s commitment to dignity, justice, and walking alongside one another in spiritual community.
Nancy appreciates the ritual, music, meaningful messages, and opportunities to advocate for important causes that she finds here. She enjoys biking, walking, hiking, cooking, learning and teaching about natural health, studying the enneagram, travel, languages, and cheering on the Thorns. Comfortable in both science and religion, Nancy brings a lifelong love of both knowing and mystery, and hopes to stay involved in advocacy, intergenerational conversation, and care for the earth and all our cousins.
