Jim was born and raised in a rural Northern Indiana farming community.  After finishing university, he had a 42 year career in academic libraries including Indiana University, Northwestern and the University of Washington, Seattle from where he retired in 2016.  Jim lives in Beaverton with Kenn, his husband of 38 years and their furbies Rascal and Wiley. He is a lifelong learner with many interests, including books, art, travel, walking and mythology.
