James (Jim) D

Jim D was born and raised in New England.  After graduating from Boston College and Notre Dame Law School, he moved “sight unseen” to Oregon in 1971.

He continues to practice law, focusing on Business, Tax, Real Estate and Estate Planning.  

Jim met his wife, Debra in 2005 and they married in 2009. Debra and Jim have six daughters and eight grandchildren between them. He is a lifelong Red Sox fan and he and Debra go to Red Sox games every year.  Jim is an avid croquet player and formerly was president of the Portland Croquet Club.  He is also a lifetime runner.  Debra and Jim enjoy golf together.  One of their favorite activities is attending live theater – from Broadway in NYC to PCS in Portland to OSF in Ashland.  

Jim has been involved in numerous community organizations, including Rotary Club of Portland (past President); Portland Rotary Charitable Trust (past President); Beaverton School District Special Education Advisory Committee (Chair); Special Olympics Oregon – softball coach for 20+ years; an advocate for individuals with Down Syndrome by supporting Phame Academy and GiGi’s Playhouse (currently being considered for a board position).
