Economic Justice Action Group (EJAG)

The Economic Justice Action Group promotes fair and just economic policies and practices for all citizens. Our activities are both church and community-based. We collaborate with the Peace Action Group and other First Unitarian action groups on our shared goals.

EJAG’s current areas of focus are:

  • Eliminate the growing gap between the majority of us and the very richest by increasing the federal minimum wage from $7.25/hour to at least $17.00/hour. Tax the rich.
  • End the annual increases in the war budget by never increasing it, instead cutting the war budget. As we move into a new Cold War, we must abolish all nuclear weapons. Move money from the war budget to funding the needs of the people.
  • Support for Medicare for All.
  • Support for ending student debt.
  • Create a system of public banks to divorce us from being dependent on the Wall Street too-big-to-fail banking system

Please join us on the third Sunday of each month (except July and August), from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. in the Fireside Room on the top floor of Eliot Chapel. Learn more or join the EJAG by joining our meeting, visiting our website, or emailing David D.
