Debra D, president and founder of Synergy Resources Group (SRG) leads a multi-disciplinary firm that specializes in organizational health and development with an emphasis on organizational assessments and restructure; fiscal management; strategic planning; board governance; and leadership development. Debra focuses on serving nonprofit organizations and government entities experiencing change, growth or transformation.

Debra has held executive level positions in for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations, and consultation services over the last 35 years. Her education is in business, accounting, and marketing. She is a certified facilitator and certified in change management. She is also certified in Hogan Assessment Systems and Myers Briggs. In addition, to over 15 years of training in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion via a variety of sources.

Early in Debra’s career she worked in government relations, advocating for children through the Parent Teachers Associations in the Oregon Legislature and developing transportation, natural resource and environmental policies in Oregon and Washington DC. The following are a few of her achievements: Debra was appointed to Attorney General Hardy Meyers’ Consumer Protection Council and served with him for 8 years. She earned EPA’s first small business technical assistance program award; worked with Oregon Environmental Council to pass Oregon’s Mercury Reduction Act and in 2015 she was awarded the Women’s Business Coalition’s Women of Influence Award.

Debra and Jim celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary on April 4. We have 6 daughters between the two of us along with 6 grandchildren. Debra, an environmentalist from the age of 12, is currently a member of the Oregon Environmental Council Board. She enjoys live theater, music, reading, golf, travel, and women’s professional sports.
