Priorities for the 2025-26 church year

Climate Justice Collaboration
For more than two decades the Community for Earth has worked to promote environmental awareness and action in our congregation and has been a hub for climate justice action in the Portland region. We continue this coordinating role working with such UU organizations as: Create Climate Justice; Ministry for Earth; Oregon UU Voices for Justice; ecumenical organizations including Interfaith Power and Light, Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon and EcoFaith Recovery; and local/national groups including Third Act.

These our campaigns for the coming year:

• Democracy (Resistance-based Actions) Coordinate with our church’s Social Justice Democracy in Action group and reframe our climate work in a manner that supports democracy. 
• Climate Justice Collaboration Support groups and activities promoting climate justice, including Sun Day on Sept. 21st, Rumble on the River, Divest Oregon, legislative action, electrification work, and more!
• Church Community Building. Connect with fellow congregants and the larger UU community to foster joy, gratitude, spirituality and resilience.
