Abbey T.

Abbey T. (she/her) grew up Unitarian Universalist at First Parish in Arlington, MA, and has been active in UU life as both a lay leader and a minister for around 30 years. She first joined First Unitarian Portland in 2009, when living in Portland offered her a chance to build community, deepen her faith, and sing with the chamber choir. Several years later she left for seminary and has now spent the last decade serving as Lead Minister at the First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia, while happily renewing her membership at First U PDX after it lapsed along the way.

Abbey loves singing, playing with her kids, and unabashedly nerding out about all things Unitarian Universalism. She will be a long-distance member, grateful for the virtual and hybrid ways religious community continues to grow since the pandemic. Because she serves full time as a minister in another congregation, Abbey cannot be deeply involved here, but this was the last congregation she belonged to before entering ministry, and it feels special to be known in this community not for her role, but simply for who she is.
