We're in downtown Portland, just a few blocks west of the Art Museum.

Sunday worship services are held at 9:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary
and at 11:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary and in Eliot Chapel.

100_1290_small(Get Directions).  The primary entrance to The Sanctuary and/or to Fuller Hall is through doors on the corner of SW Main at 12th.
A short set of stairs lead up to the Sanctuary.

This building, however, is fully accessible from street level via the single door on SW 12th about half way up the block. An elevator located just inside will take you up to the Sanctuary, or down to Fuller Hall. ( Map of Church Campus .)

As you enter the Sanctuary Narthex (lobby), look for our Welcome Desk. A friendly host will be there to greet you and answer questions. You may make a visitor nametag, sign our guest register, and pick up literature about church programs and activities. Our Religious Education (RE) program for children and youth is located in the  Eliot Center and Buchan Building , on the north half of our block. Enter via the brick walkway on SW 12th, and once inside, stop at the RE Information Desk to register your children, etc.

First-time visitors often wonder what to wear when they come to our church.  You'll see people in everything from "Sunday best" to very casual attire at our services; please wear what helps you feel most comfortable. After all, this is Portland!

A Social Hour follows the service in Fuller Hall
(directly below the Sanctuary) and in the Buchan Reception Room (Enter the Eliot Center via the brick walkway between our two buildings on SW 12th; pass the nursery and turn left and down the short hall toward the Buchan Reception Room).

Be sure to visit the Newcomer Table in Fuller Hall to learn more about First Church.
Friendly hosts will be there to answer questions, and share information about our community of faith. Make a nametag or sign our guest register. Pick up free literature about our church, and then enjoy the Art Wall, our own bookstore, displays about our many programs... and a cup of coffee. All are welcome, and we look forward to meeting you!

Snow? Ice? Church Cancellations
To learn if a church event, class or rehearsal has been cancelled due to weather, go to the church website, and check the “Highlights” window (top center of the home page) where closures will be posted. Or, call the church office after 4 p.m. and listen to the voice message (503-228-6389). Closure decisions are made by 3:45 p.m., and the voice message will provide updates. Decisions to cancel Sunday worship or to reduce the number of worship services are made by 7 a.m. on Sunday morning. If time permits, we will try to send a special e-postcard regarding church cancellations to everyone who regularly receives the e-news. Your good judgment is your best guide.
