Crystal is thrilled to join the community of First Unitarian Church as Intern Minister. She is a UUA Candidate for Ministry called to serve in congregational ministry. She obtained her Master of Divinity from Seattle University School of Theology & Ministry and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Pennsylvania State University. While in seminary, Crystal worked in Religious Exploration at her home congregation, Westside Unitarian Universalist Congregation, interned in parish ministry at Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church, and completed her Clinical Pastoral Education at Harborview Medical Center.
Divine Love is central to Crystal’s faith. Using the imagery of a fountain, she describes a Wellspring of Love that flows within each and every person, sustaining and feeding us at our cores and bursting forth in a shower of Love for others. Following her first career in social services, she brings passion for the art of deep listening and being present with others and warmly welcomes the opportunity to journey with people in their search for truth and meaning. An avid kayaker and biker, Crystal relishes in connection with the natural world, honoring the elements, seasons, and cycles of life. She has adopted as her life’s motto:
It is always possible to love more.
