Community for Earth Film Series Begins May 4

Energy, transporation, dwindling landscapes, and our food supply are just a few of the greatest concerns facing the human race and our beautiful earth. Join us during our environmental film series and discussions.

Suggested donation: $5-$10; no one turned away. Proceeds to benefit UU Ministry for Earth.

Sunday, May 4, 1 p.m. in the Sanctuary -

"Crude Awakening"

A documentary that tells the story of how our civilization's addiction to oil puts it on a collision course with geology.


Sunday, May 11, 1 p.m. in room B102 -

"Who Killed the Electric Car?"

Chronicles the life and mysterious death of the GM EV1, examining its cultural and economic ripple effects and how they reverberated through the halls of government and big business.


Sunday, May 18, 1 p.m. in room B102 -

"Ansel Adams"

Weaves together archival footage, photographic images, and dramatic readings of the artist's own writing, and interviews with leading photographers, historians, curators, naturalists, as well as Adams's family, friends, and colleagues, to tell the story of a man who was at once a visionary photographer, a pioneer in photographic technique, and an ardent crusader for the cause of environmentalism.
