Job Description: Development Officer - Annual Fund Drive

Exempt full-time

Reports to Director of Finance & Administration

Effective Date: 05/07/08

General position summary: This is a full-time, 12-month position. Coordinate successful annual fund drive, donor recognition, and volunteer recruitment and support. Note: this job does not involve data entry.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train and support volunteers
  • Participate in developing fund raising strategies
  • Cultivate donor relationships
  • Coordinate development activities such as mailings and phonathons
  • Plan and host donor recognition events
  • Promote generosity through articles, appeal letters, phone scripts, etc.

Required Experience, Skills and Aptitudes:

  • Three (3) years development experience. Volunteer fundraising leadership will be considered.
  • Enjoy working with volunteers
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience, Skills and Aptitudes:

  • Event planning experience
  • Public speaking expertise

Hours: Full-time, includes occasional evenings and weekends

Pay:    $32,968 to $37,440
